artist statement

Emily is a soprano from Nebraska, where she earned her BA in Vocal Performance from Creighton University. Recently, Emily trained and performed at the Berlin Opera Academy, where she portrayed the Sandmännchen (The Sleep Fairy) role in Hänsel und Gretel. She has performed with Resonance, Omaha’s local semi-professional choir. She has been training in dance and voice for several years. Emily danced with Motion 41, now AMB School of Dance. That is where she started teacher assisting and choreographing. Emily danced with American Midwest Ballet in the second company for three years as a connection through the studio. Throughout her training, Emily has traveled across the US, partaking in many master classes for tap. In the Omaha community, she has performed with Papillion Area Community Theatre and Ralston Community Theatre. Her notable performance credits from Creighton University include Lita Encore in Ruthless!, Assistant Director and Choreographer for Next to Normal, and Lily in The Secret Garden. Emily teaches dance in the Omaha Metro, specializing in Tap and Musical Theatre. She also teaches voice at SNJ Studio of Music. What Emily enjoys most about performing is connecting with her audience. Outside of the theatrical world, Emily crochets and grabs Starbucks with her dog Kismet.

My mission is to connect with audiences

hope, laughter, and even tears. As an artist and
educator, I strive to create a safe and nurturing
environment for students of all ages and
backgrounds to express themselves freely. By
being a role model and fostering emotional
connections, I believe in their individual growth
while cherishing their unique qualities. I value
collaboration, leadership, and compassion,
aiming to inspire hearts rather than just filling
seats in theaters or classrooms. Through my
vast experience and the guidance of mentors, I
am committed to sharing my expertise in
dance, music, and theatre to make a positive
impact on others' lives.
